CT Coronary Angiography

CT coronary angiography is a non-invasive imaging test used to evaluate the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart. It uses advanced computed tomography (CT) technology along with a contrast dye to create detailed 3D images of the heart and blood vessels. This test helps detect plaque buildup, narrowing, or blockages in the coronary arteries without the need for catheter insertion.

Your Care Journey

We believe in complete transparency. Here is what you can expect at every step of your procedural journey with our specialized medical team.

Before Surgery

Before undergoing CT coronary angiography, patients are evaluated to ensure they are suitable for the test. Doctors review medical history, including allergies to contrast dye, kidney function, and existing conditions such as diabetes or hypertension. Patients are usually advised to avoid caffeine and smoking.

Day of Surgery

The patient lies on a motorized table that slides into the CT scanner. Electrodes are placed on the chest to monitor heart rate. A contrast dye is injected through an intravenous line. As the scanner rotates around the body, multiple images of the heart are captured in seconds.

Post Surgery

After the scan, patients are observed for a short period to ensure there are no reactions to the contrast dye. Hydration is recommended to help flush the dye out of the body. Since the procedure is non-invasive, most patients can resume their daily routine the same day.
