Bullectomy
Bullectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove large air-filled spaces in the lungs known as bullae. These bullae usually develop in patients with severe lung conditions such as emphysema, where damaged lung tissue forms enlarged air pockets that do not participate in normal breathing. As they grow, they compress healthy lung tissue.
