Arthroscopy Procedure

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat problems inside a joint. During the procedure, the surgeon inserts a thin instrument called an arthroscope, which has a small camera and light, through tiny incisions to examine the joint and perform necessary repairs. It is commonly performed on the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, elbow, and wrist.

Your Care Journey

We believe in complete transparency. Here is what you can expect at every step of your procedural journey with our specialized medical team.

Before Surgery

The surgeon evaluates the joint using physical examination, X-rays, and possibly an MRI. Patients are advised to follow fasting instructions, adjust medications, and arrange for transportation home after the procedure.

Day of Surgery

Under anaesthesia, small incisions are made around the joint. The arthroscope is inserted to visualize the inside of the joint on a monitor. Specialized instruments are used to repair tissue, reconstruct ligaments, trim cartilage, or treat other problems. Incisions are closed with sutures or adhesive strips.

Post Surgery

The patient is usually discharged the same day. Advice includes resting the joint, applying ice packs, taking pain medications, beginning physiotherapy, and avoiding strenuous activities until approved.
